The Margaret Byrd Rawson Institute prioritizes the importance of correct alphabetic sound practice and multisensory letter formation. Below are suggested free practice websites encouraging students, parents, and teachers to practice proper alphabetic sound practice while making the correct letter formation.
Note: Select either print or cursive letter formation. Cursive is best for various neurological reasons, but make sure what you practice at home is used in school. You don’t want to be teaching cursive at home when they are practicing print in school. Be consistent! Learn only one letter formation at a time while tracing and say each proper letter sound until mastered, then move on to the next letter and sound. Learn the lower-case letters first and then move on to the upper-case formations.
